Baby insights: sleep and feeding patterns, gently surfaced
The long-term reason to keep logging: clear charts, a weekly digest with numbers you can trust, and patterns compared with your own baby — never someone else's.
Cocoon's Insights tab charts sleep, daily feeds, bottle intake, time nursing and pumping output over 7, 14 or 30 days, with averages per logged day so gaps don't drag them down. A weekly digest compares this week with last — feeds, sleep, nappies, new foods, milestones, pumping and night feeds — calculated straight from your logs.

What it does
Insights shows sleep duration, daily feeds, bottle intake, time at the breast and pumping output over 7, 14 or 30 days. Averages say what they're averaged over — “avg / logged day” — so a day you didn't log doesn't pull the numbers down.
The weekly digest puts this week beside last week: feeds, sleep, nappies, new foods, milestones, pumping and night feeds between 10pm and 6am. Every number is calculated from your logs; an optional AI-written weekly note can sit on top, but it never invents a number.
When two or more people log, “Sharing the care” shows who logged what. Gentle nudges point out changes against your baby's own baseline — only over complete days, and never as a diagnosis.

Common questions
Does Cocoon compare my baby with other babies?
Only on growth charts, which use WHO and CDC references. Every other insight compares your baby with their own recent pattern.
Why do Cocoon's averages say “per logged day”?
So days you didn't log — or today, still in progress — don't drag the average down. Each average says exactly what it's over.
Is the weekly digest written by AI?
The numbers never are: every figure is calculated directly from your logs. If you turn on the optional AI features, a short weekly note can be added, written around those numbers.

The 4-month sleep change
Around four months your baby's sleep grows up — more wakings now are usually a sign of healthy brain development, not a step backwards.
Cluster feeding: when baby wants to feed constantly
Those long evening stretches where baby feeds again and again are normal, healthy, and won't last forever.
Is my baby getting enough milk?
If your baby is having regular wet and dirty nappies, gaining weight and settling after most feeds, the milk is very likely going in just fine.
