Everything you might want to know before you start. Still curious? Email us any time.

Is Cocoon really free?

Yes. Right now every feature — logging, the journal, trends, growth charts, the assistant and multi-caregiver sync — is free, with no subscription and no ads. Just create a free account to add your baby and you're in.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Cocoon is offline-first, so you can log a feed or a nap with no signal — on a walk, on a plane, in the nursery at 3am — and it syncs automatically the moment you're back online.

Is my family's data private?

Your data is yours. It's protected with row-level security so only caregivers you invite can see your child, encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold, and never used for advertising. We show no ads — the only analytics measure how the app is used so we can improve it, never the content of your logs, photos or journal.

Can my partner or our nanny use it too?

Yes — invite your partner, a grandparent or a nanny once and everyone shares the same live, up-to-date log. No more wondering who did the last feed.

Can I get my data out if I leave?

Always. Cocoon exports everything — every log, growth measurement and journal entry, plus all your photos and videos — into a single file you can restore on any device. It's a real backup and a genuine exit, with no lock-in.

Which devices is Cocoon on?

Cocoon is in private beta on Android right now — join the beta and we'll email you a Google Play test invite so you can install it. An iPhone version is in the works; pop your email in and we'll let you know the moment it lands.

Can I bring my history from another app?

Yes. You can import from Huckleberry, Baby Daybook, Cubtale, Nara Baby, Baby Connect, Baby Tracker, Day One, Apple Journal and more — feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping, growth, temperatures and medications — plus your camera roll and CSV files. It's easiest from a computer at app.getcocoonapp.com/import, and importing the same file twice is safe because duplicates are skipped, so switching doesn't mean starting over.

What is FeedSafe, the alcohol timer?

FeedSafe gives you a gentle estimate of when alcohol has likely cleared your breast milk, based on the number of standard drinks, your weight and the time since your first drink. It's there to inform your own judgement — it is an estimate, not medical advice, and never a guarantee. When in doubt, wait longer or express and discard.

Can Cocoon remind me about medicines?

Yes. Log a dose and Cocoon shows a clear “hours since the last dose” countdown and can remind you when the next one is due — so you're never squinting at the clock wondering when the last lot of paracetamol went in. You can also record temperatures and symptoms to show your GP.

Does Cocoon give medical advice?

No. Cocoon is for observation and context, not medical advice, and it is not a medical device. The in-app assistant explains your own logged data in plain language — it never diagnoses, and always points you to your GP or child-health nurse for medical questions.
