Feed-safe: a private timer for alcohol and breastfeeding
A glass of wine on a hard day, without the maths. A private estimate of when your milk is likely clear, counting down on Home and your Lock Screen.
Cocoon's Feed-safe timer estimates when alcohol has likely cleared your breast milk, from the number of standard drinks and (optionally) your weight, using published clearance studies — about 2 hours per standard drink when weight isn't given. It counts down on Home, the Lock Screen and in a notification, stays on your device and is never shared. It's an estimate, not a guarantee.
What it does
Add your standard drinks and, if you like, your weight. Cocoon estimates when alcohol has likely cleared your breast milk using the published clearance research (Ho 2001, Koren 2002); without a weight, it uses the familiar rule of about 2 hours per standard drink.
The countdown shows on Home, on the Lock Screen and in a notification, and Cocoon reminds you when the estimate says your milk is likely clear. What counts as a standard drink follows your region.
It's private by design: the Feed-safe timer lives only on your device. It is never synced, never on the family log, and never seen by the caregivers you invite.

Common questions
How long after a drink can I breastfeed?
As a rule of thumb, about 2 hours per standard drink for an average adult, longer for a smaller body. Cocoon's Feed-safe timer estimates it from your drinks and weight — an estimate to inform your judgement, not a guarantee.
Can my partner or nanny see my Feed-safe timer?
No. The Feed-safe timer stays on your device only. It is never synced and never appears on the shared family log.
Is the Feed-safe timer affiliated with a breastfeeding organisation?
No. Cocoon's Feed-safe timer is our own feature. It draws on published research into how alcohol clears breast milk, but it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any other app or organisation.

Understanding your milk supply
Your body makes milk in response to how often and how well it's removed — and a quiet pump session almost never tells the real story.
Feeding when returning to work
Heading back to work doesn't have to mean the end of breastfeeding — with a little planning, a buffer of milk, and some flexibility, you and your baby can find a rhythm that works.
Exclusively pumping
Feeding your baby expressed breastmilk is a valid, loving choice — here's how to build a workable rhythm and protect your supply.

How it worksPumping log & milk stash
Log a pump in seconds, send the milk straight to the fridge or freezer, and always know what's in your stash — and what to use first.
How it worksVoice, widgets, Lock Screen & Siri
For when both hands are full: speak it, tap it from the Lock Screen, or ask Siri. Timers and the next window are always one glance away.
