Cocoon's optional AI features — powered by Claude from Anthropic — answer questions about your own logs (“Ask Cocoon”), read logging phrases the on-phone parser missed, turn a photo of a daycare or nanny day sheet into draft entries, write up a sleep plan, and add a weekly note. Nothing is sent until you agree, each feature says what it sends, and replies never give medical advice.
What it does
Ask Cocoon answers questions about your own logs — for one child or all of them — and shows which data it looked at. It can point to any of Cocoon's evidence-based guides, and it reframes anything that drifts towards a medical claim, pointing you back to your GP or child-health nurse.
Scan a day sheet: photograph the sheet from daycare or the nanny, and Cocoon drafts the entries for you to review before anything is logged. The image isn't stored, and the sheet's notes can be kept as a journal note.
A sleep plan write-up and a weekly note add a few warm paragraphs around numbers Cocoon has already calculated — the AI never invents a number, and it never chooses a nap time.
How it works
- Create a free account (AI features need one, and a connection).
- Tap the sparkle on Home to Ask Cocoon, or choose Scan day sheet from the + sheet.
- Read what the feature sends, and agree — or don't.
- Turn AI off any time in Settings → Data & privacy → AI features.

Claude, made by Anthropic. Cocoon asks before anything is sent, names Anthropic, and lists what each feature sends. You can turn AI off any time.
Does Cocoon need AI to work?
No. Logging, forecasts, charts, reports and guides all work without it. The AI features are optional extras that need a free account and a connection.
Can the assistant give medical advice?
No. It explains your own logged data in plain language and points you to guides; anything medical is reframed with a pointer to your GP or child-health nurse.
